Another instalment of Kostomarov’s historical series for the Detinets house (Berlin, series II, the same series as no. 58, From Our Past, and no. 90, Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich): sketches of figures from the Time of Troubles. The known copy comes from the library of the Don ataman General A. P. Bogayevsky, as does no. 58. Printer for Detinets; the lot description does not name the print shop, and the attribution to Gutnov rests on the identical series design. Series: Detinets, series II, no. 4.
