The husbands of some housewives are alcoholics (sorry, if I’ve offended someone), my husband is a workaholic. That’s why sometimes I can wait hours till he comes home. I have to make up some tricks to make him come home earlier.

Last week I’ve asked him to come home in time and promised him a small surprise, which was this shepherd’s pie.

Many housewives make shepherd’s pie with mashed potatoes (I’ll publish such recipe a little bit later). I prefer to make shepherd’s pie in this way…

Ingredients:

  1. Potatoes, 1,5 kg.
  2. Mince of pork or half with beef, 800 gr. – 1 kg.
  3. 2 onions.
  4. Cheese, 200 gr.
  5. Mayonnaise, 100 gr.
  6. Salt
  7. Black milled pepper
  8. Seasoning

Preparation:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into 5 mm. thick circles.
  2. Put the potatoes into boiling salty water and boil for 5-7 min.
  3. Add some salt and pepper into the mince and mix well.
  4. Put half of the boiled potatoes on the pan and then as a next thin layer put all the mince. It’s better to put the mince in such a way: take some mince and make a small sheet with your hands. Then put it on the potatoes until the whole layer of potatoes won’t be covered.
  5. Put the next layer of potatoes on the meat. Возможно, формат этой картинки не поддерживается браузером.
  6. Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, some seasoning or seeds of dill. Pour the mayonnaise.
  7. Peel the onions and cut into fine semi rings.
  8. Put the cut onion onto the mayonnaise.
  9. Grate the cheese and put it onto the onion.
  10. Put the dish into the oven and bake over a medium heat for about 40 min.
