Firstly, I was about to make a cake with strawberry. I’ve decided to take the standard recipe of a cake and add some berries there.

But I’ve changed my plans when I was preparing the dough. I’ve decided to take bilberries instead of strawberries.  As a result I came to a conclusion that, if I had used strawberries, the cake would have been not so tasty. Strawberry, when used in baking, becomes soft and watery and looses its taste. But with bilberries it’s quite the opposite.

Ingredients:

  1. 4 eggs.
  2. Sugar 1 1/3 glass.
  3. Flour, 2 glasses.
  4. Butter (soft), 175 gr.
  5. Sour cream, 1 glass.
  6. Baking powder, 2 tea spoons.
  7. Vanillin
  8. Bilberry, 1 glass.

Preparation:

  1. Whip the eggs with a mixer.
  2. Add sugar and vanillin. Whip with the help of a mixer.
  3. Add sour cream and soft butter, mix.
  4. Add flour sifted together with baking powder.
  5. Flush bilberries, dry and roll in flour.
  6. Put the bilberries in the dough and mix carefully with a spoon.
  7. Oil the cake form, sprinkle with a large amount of dried bread crumbs. Put the dough there and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake in an oven for 50-60 min at a temperature of 180 C. You can check whether the cake is ready with the help of a match. Pierce the cake with the match. If it is dry—the cake is ready.
