Sometimes we want to eat something tasty during the Lent. But many people stint themselves, eat not the food they want.

As a rule Lenten menu is unvaried. Only a limited list of products is used and they bore us.

Today I offer you a variant of vegetable soup which will be useful during any Lent. It is light, bright, tasty and low-calorie – a wonderful variant of a diet!

Ingredients:

  1. 300g potatoes
  2. 400g Chinese cabbage
  3. 200g sweet pepper (red or yellow)
  4. 100g onion
  5. 50g butter
  6. 5 peppercorns
  7. Salt

Preparation:

  1. Peel potatoes, cut them into shoe-strings and add very hot water, boil them.
  2. Chop sweet pepper and onion and fry with butter.
  3. Add sliced cabbage and fried vegetables to the potatoes and boil for another 3 min, add salt.
  4. Sour-cream can be added before serving.

You can also add a slice of lemon in each portion.
