Meatballs are considered to be the ordinary dish of many nationalities. Though there are recipes of meatballs that despite meat include rice, bread, dried breadcrumbs, onion, various kinds of seasoning and eggs. Even the ways of cooking are different. Meatballs are fried, baked, prepared on steam, and stewed in sauce.

And, certainly, every housewife has her own secrets. I would like to share mine in this recipe. By the way, my mum adds rice into meatballs but I prefer to serve rice as a side dish!

Ingredients:

  1.   Pork, 450 gr.
  2. 1 egg.
  3. Dried breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons
  4. Black milled pepper
  5. Salt
  6. Dairy butter, 2 tablespoons.
  7. 1 onion.
  8. Garlic, 1 clove.
  9. Sugar
  10. 3 tablespoons of tomato paste or 3 ripe tomatoes.
  11. 8 peas of pepper.
  12. 2 bay leaves.

Preparation:

  1. Cut the meat in meat grinder; add salt, black milled pepper, dried breadcrumbs and an egg.
  2. Make not big balls of the mince.
  3. Fry the meatballs on all sides (over a high heat) till the light yellow colour and put them into a not big pan.
  4. Put the dairy butter on the frying pan then put finely chopped onion and fry it over a low heat.
  5. Add pounded garlic, peeled tomatoes or tomato paste, salt, sugar, peas of pepper, 5 tablespoons of water.
  6. Bring the sauce to a boil.
  7. Pour the sauce in the pan with meatballs, add the bay leaves, cover the pan and stew on a low heat for 30-40 min after it will boil.
