As you know, potatoes are the second bread for the Belarusians, out nation is proud of this vegetable. And no Belarusian will take offence if you call him boolbash (boolba is potatoes in Belarusian).

My husband is very fond of potatoes. So I have to cook it quite often when he asks me: for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here is another recipe “Home fried potatoes”.

Time for preparation: 10 min
Time for cooking: 30 min

Ingredients:

  1. 1kg potatoes
  2. 1 onion
  3. 100g smoked or boiled sausage
  4. Dill or parsley
  5. 20g vegetable oil
  6. Salt
  7. Grounded black pepper

Preparation:

  1. Peel and slice potatoes.
  2. Heat a pan and pour oil on it.
  3. Put potatoes on the heated pan and fry on a big flame, stirring every 2 min for 10-15 min.
  4. When potatoes gain crust, reduce the flame and cover the pan with a lid.
  5. Chop onion and sausage.
  6. Put the onion and sausage on the potatoes and cover with a lid.
  7. Fry for 15 min, stirring every 3-4 min.
  8. When the dish is ready sprinkle it with chopped dill or parsley and add salt.
