Today there exist a great number of various recipes of porridge and barley. I offer you a new recipe with vegetables and mushrooms.
This pearl barley is very tasty and it can be served as a separate dish for breakfast, lunch or supper. It is also a good side dish to meat.

Ingredients:

  1. 250g pearl barley
  2. 200g champignons
  3. 200g carrot
  4. 100g onion
  5. 75g vegetable oil
  6. Salt

Preparation:

  1. Wash fresh mushrooms (champignons or oyster mushrooms) in salty water, rinse them in cold water and chop.
  2. Peel carrots and grate them.
  3. Chop onion.
  4. Brown vegetables and mushrooms separately with oil.
  5. Fry pearl barley on a pan without oil, pour in boiling water, let it swell. Then boil it until it is ready.
  6. Mix the pearl barley with browned vegetables and serve.
