Boiled beef is simple traditional dish. Cook this classical dish and you’ll understand why it’s so popular even nowadays.

Time for preparation: 10 min + freezing
Time for cooking: 1 hour and 45 min

Ingredients for 6-8 portions:

  1. 1.4kg inside part of hip cut or breast (beef)
  2. 2 bay leaves
  3. 450g carrot
  4. 4 onions
  5. Pepper corn
  6. 2 sticks of cloves
  7. Greens for decoration

Preparation:

  1. Soak beef in water for a night.
  2. Pour out water and put the meat into a big saucepan, add bay leaves, cloves, cut into 4 pieces onion.
  3. Pour in cold water. It should cover the meat. Bring it to a boil.
  4. Remove foam and boil for an hour and 15 min.
  5. Slice carrot lengthway into 8 pieces. Put it into the saucepan. Boil it for another 20 min until carrot becomes soft.
  6. Take the meat out of the saucepan, Slice into big pieces and serve with onion and carrot.
  7. Decorate everything with greens over the top.

Advice:

Boiled meat is sappier than fried or grilled. That’s why you can mince it and make cutlets. Fry them a little on both sides.
